Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers Seminar
On 1 November 2014, ETA participated in a Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCVs) seminar at the Rahimtulla Tower, Upper Hill Road, Nairobi, Kenya. This event was facilitated by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Kenya Office and the World Bank Kenya Office. ETA’s staff established good networks with presenters from various counties of Kenya (Kitui, Embu, Kirinyaga, Nakuru and Siaya) and also actively contributed to discussions. Presentation topics included forestry, agriculture, education and health.

JICA, AfDB, and IFC Financial Seminar
On 16 September 2014, ETA attended a financial seminar “Promoting Private Finance and Investment in Kenya” at Sarova Panafric Hotel, Nairobi, Kenya. The seminar was hosted by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in collaboration with the African Development Bank (AfDB) and International Finance Corporation (IFC). ETA discussed with participants from both public and private sectors how project financing assistance in Kenya could be improved in the future so that it would be more attractive to project developers/managers in the environmental or energy sector.
