Annual General Meeting of WASPA in Eldoret
On 18 November 2016: On behalf of ETA’s client, Wellthy Corporation, ETA’s staff attended the annual general meeting of Kenyan Water Services Providers Association (WASPA) in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County. ETA promoted its client’s technology and also carried out interviews to dozens of water service providers at this event.

International Cooperation Career Fair 2016 in Tokyo
On 29 October 2016: ETA’s director delivered a speech on his career and ETA’s business at the International Cooperation Career Fair 2016 (Link available in Japanese only). This event was held in Tokyo and organized by International Development Journal Limited, one of the most prominent Japanese publishers, which also organizes events related to international cooperation activities. At this occasion, ETA also gave individual consultations to the participants of the event for their international career development.
Training for Semi-Aerobic Solid Waste Management (Fukuoka Method)
On 16-21 September 2016: A four-day training on an internationally well-known semi-aerobic solid waste management method, Fukuoka Method, was given in Thika, Kiambu County, Kenya by a nonprofit organization (NPO), SWAN-Fukuoka (Solid Waste management Advisers Network Fukuoka). This training was funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and co-facilitated by UNHABITAT (United Nations Human Settlements Programme) and Fukuoka University. The on-site training covered the following aspects:
- Transportation and unloading of solid waste.
- Soil coverage and gas venting system at a landfill.
- Function and use of Tornado Treatment System (TTS) for leachate from the landfill.
- Quality test of leachate discharged from the landfill.
- Eco-Fan assembly and installation.
- Establishment of compost systems (mechanisms and use of compost / monitoring of gases).
Two staff of ETA received this training with other 50-60 participants consisting of officers from Kiambu County and Nairobi County as well as experts from the private sector.

1st Conference of Women in Water and Sanitation (WIWAS)
On 14-15 September 2016: Women in Water and Sanitation (WIWAS) Association in partnership with Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company Ltd (NCWSC), Water Service Providers Association (WASPA) and Kenya Water and Sanitation Network (KEWASNET) held “The First Women in Water and Sanitation Conference” in Naivasha, Kenya.
WIWAS was launched on 23 February 2016 with the objective of reinforcing the role of women in management of water and sanitation in Kenya. The association is registered under the Societies Act and recognized by the Ministry of Water and Irrigation.
ETA was invited by the event organizer and participated in this event to discuss water issues and solutions with water service providers coming from all over Kenya.

Bi-monthly Meeting of Kenyan Water Service Providers Association (WASPA) in Malindi
On 2-3 September 2016: On behalf of ETA’s client, Wellthy Corporation, ETA’s staff attended a bi-monthly meeting of Kenyan Water Service Providers Association (WASPA) in Malindi, Kilifi County. ETA promoted its client’s technology to dozens of water service providers at this event and also conducted a technical survey to the directors from those government-owned companies.
6th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD VI) Summit in Nairobi, Kenya
On 25-28 August 2016: TICAD (Tokyo International Conference on African Development) has continuously evolved since the first conference in 1993 in Japan. The TICAD VI Summit was held in Nairobi, Kenya, which was hosted by the governments of Kenya and Japan inviting heads of all the African nations and countries from other continents, international organizations, private sector companies and other organizations.
Staff of ETA supported the exhibition booth of Wellthy Corporation and ETA’s director attended more than twenty meetings with potential clients and other partners as well as seminars and workshops in the sectors of water, waste management and renewable energy, which were related to ETA’s core business.

Taxation and Accounting Seminar of JETRO
On 29 July 2016: ETA attended a half-day seminar of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) about Kenyan taxation and accounting system and practice. Senior level certified public accounts from KPMG Kenya gave a lecture and ETA enjoyed this opportunity to clarify some issues related to tax and accounting in Kenya. This event was useful for ETA to ensure that its operation is in compliance with relevant Kenyan regulations.
Bi-monthly Meeting of Kenyan Water Service Providers Association (WASPA) in Loitokitok
On 1 July 2016: ETA’s staff accompanied a senior expert of Wellthy Corporation at this meeting in Loitokitok, Kajiado County, South-Western part of Kenya in order to support his presentation and marketing activities to members of Kenyan Water Service Providers Association (WASPA).
Wrap-up Seminar of a Membrane Water Treatment Project in Ruiru
On 28 June 2016: ETA facilitated logistics of a seminar in Ruiru, Kiambu County, Kenya for Wellthy Corporation to report on the outcomes from its pilot project of membrane water treatment technology. This event was organized in a frame work of an international cooperation project of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) with the government of Kenya and the following organizations were invited.
- JICA Kenya Office.
- Kiambu County Government.
- Athi Water Services Board.
- Ruiru-Juja Water Service Company.
- Thika Water Service Company.
- Private sector companies.
ETA helped its client for the preparation of this seminar, but also provided its staff as the master of ceremony and supported the client for compiling meeting minutes.
